“I feel like wearing that dress; I’ve never felt more—not just comfortable, but beautiful. I felt so seen.”
Everything you ate for breakfast?
Girl, all I ate today was a coffee. Yeah, it was a nice iced oat latte with vanilla syrup, 16 ounces, of course, from Bridgeport Coffee. Go check it out!
Something you think people don’t know about you.
Well, I feel like the first thing that I always say during, like, icebreakers or anything is that I’m Blasian. That’s literally the first thing. And everyone’s like, “Oh my God, no way! I couldn’t have guessed.” I’m like, “I am Black. I am.” No surprise. But another one, though, is that I write music and I play an electric guitar.
Ten things you can’t live without?
Lip balm, flip flops, good pair of black sneakers, curly hair products, earring, waterbottle, journal, lip liner, a cute phone case, and baggy jeans there you have it!
How would you describe your style?
I mean, my style has changed a lot. I feel like everyone would resonate with that, you know? But in terms of, I don’t know, with age, when I was younger, I was more girly, and then all of a sudden, it just went to, like, sweatpants every day. And now I feel like I’ve gotten better at expressing myself through my sense of style. I feel like my style is different depending on the day, but I would say effortless, yet old.
Explain where you would wear the outfit that we shot today.
You know, girl, that outfit? I don’t know. She’s important. She’s important. I would wear that outfit when I release the release of my first album. You know, when I release my album, of course I want to be seen, I guess. And I am the musician here. I’m the artist here. Like, “Hi, it’s me!” walking into the room.
Rules to live by, according to you
My number one rule is to not overcomplicate people’s actions towards you. I feel like we tend to overthink when a person acts a certain way towards you, behaves a certain way towards you. You start to overthink about whether or not they like you, all this jazz and stuff. But it’s like, if they show you who they are, that’s who they are.
